You can watch CTV on most smart TVs by downloading the official CTV app and activating it with your TV provider credentials. This process gives you access to live channels and a large library of on-demand content directly on your television.
Download and Install the CTV App
First, make sure your smart TV is connected to the internet. The steps to download the app vary slightly depending on your TV’s brand and operating system.

- After you enter the code, the website will ask you to choose your TV service provider from a list. This list includes major Canadian providers like Bell, Rogers, Shaw, Telus, and many others.
- Select your provider and sign in using the username and password associated with that account. This is the same login you use to manage your cable or satellite TV bill online.
- Once you successfully sign in on the website, your smart TV screen will automatically refresh. The app will now be activated, granting you full access to live TV streams and on-demand shows and movies that are part of your TV package.

Watch Without a TV Provider
If you do not have a subscription with a participating TV provider, your access to content on the CTV app is limited. You can still watch some shows and movies for free with ads. This free library includes content from “CTV Throwback,” which features classic TV series, as well as select other ad-supported programming. However, you will not be able to watch live TV channels or the most recent episodes of currently airing shows.
